olsens honoured by fashion elite

mary kate and ashley were among 31 new members inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)on July 21st.
the duo join a high caliber including marc jacobs and philip lim in recognition of their contribution to american fashion through both their labels ‘elizabeth & james’ and ‘the row’.
contrary to some WTF reactions - i say more than well deserved. YES they have had an easier road than most up & coming labels with enough money, fame and celebrity exposure to drown themselves in - but they’ve done something fabulous with it and there is no doubt their designs can stand alone. CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg must be among the majority who see the obvious: that this in NOT victoria beckham making jeans with diamantes, or jessica simpson selling hair extensions. a far far far cry from many a-list stars: the girls actually have style and taste. and most importantly its their own.

and it shows. looky here:

crushing on whitney port

i'm loving whitney port. she would have to be my all time favourite reality tv star. how effortlessly does she pull it off from hollywood bohemian beach babe to NY fashionisa?
love LOVE love.

speaking of 'the city' how awesome was the announcement earlier this month that seafolly have signed absolute STUNNER jessica hart as face (and that body) of their campaign. could she serioulsy be any more beautiful...? doubtful. and the girl has style to boot. way to go for such an in demand star on the international scene - to bring in back home for an aussie campaign.
we hart you jess.

usually a zimmermann girl but if i can render even 0.0001% of the look in this campaign i;m willing to sacrifice some brand loyalty http://www.seafolly.com/

for the very first time

today I have wholeheartedly (yet completely ill-equipped) created this blog. in a ten minute lunchbreak. i’m only recently to accidently discover what blogspot actually is. and as per my usual persona - i’ve rushed in.

although hopefully it’s too innocent to be a foolish move…… unlike other swift “decisions” this hopefully won’t result in a HECS debt for a course I never finished, a credit card charge for a dress that will never fit, a hasty menu choice, or last minute (and costly) volunteer trip to a third world country with complete strangers…

instead i’m hoping only to satisfy my increasing hunger to gorge on all somethings that I find fashionable and desirable. and beautiful and funny and vintage. maybe not always all at once although that would be something special. maybe this will be a home to eat my meals at, rather than sending my friends dozens of daily emails with photos and links and a subject box saying very similar variations of “I MUST HAVE THIS”
